Alissa Fenton, 42 of New Sharon passed away Sunday afternoon, January 1, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am Thursday, January 5, 2017 at the New Sharon Friends Church. Visitation will begin after 12:00 pm Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at the friends church with the family present from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. As was her wish, her body will be cremated following the service and burial will be held at a later date.

Alissa Marie Fenton, the daughter of Richard and Marlene (Brubaker) Smith, was born on January 14, 1974 in Des Moines, Iowa. She attended North Mahaska and PCM schools. Alissa was married to Roger Fenton. To this union four children were born, Jacob, Andrew, Parker and Madison. They later divorced. Alissa enjoyed drinking coffee, having a good conversation with her friends. She enjoyed playing the piano.

Alissa is survived by her children, Madison Taylor Fenton and Parker Riley Fenton both of Des Moines; her parents, Richard and Marlene Smith of rural Searsboro; a half brother, Dennis Richard Smith of New Sharon; two step brothers, Kevin Dean Wright of Colfax and Carie Linn Smith of Moravia and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by twin sons in infancy, Jacob Thomas Fenton and Andrew Colin Fenton.
