Angela Rix, 62 of Grinnell passed away Monday morning, August 31, 2026 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. A Celebration of Life Potluck will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026 from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Country Inn Suites by Radisson in Grinnell. The family will provide the meat and for those whom wish may bring a side or dessert and their own beverage. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.

Angela Lynne Rix was born in Perry, Iowa on January 13th 1964 to Thelma Ridnour (Chance). She grew up in a close family and considered her cousin William (Billy) Warner her brother. During her first marriage she gave birth to her son Christopher. In her second marriage to Ray, she declared she had found the love of her life and gained a large family where the phrase in-laws never applied. Angie and Ray raised Christopher and enjoyed quality time with Ray's daughter Noel on weekends and holidays. Angie and Ray worked hard to have a home that was open and welcoming to all. Chris frequently brought his friends home and many of them came to consider Ray and Angie as their second set of parents. It was a common occurrence to hear Angie called "Mom Angie" by Chris's friends. In this manner, they found their third child Samantha whom they adopted.

Angie had an extremely generous heart, and nobody was ever a stranger.  She cared for Ray's Grandparents at the end of their lives, and her mother Thelma as well. Angie was the primary caretaker for Ray throughout his illness and was at his side when he passed. Angie also raised her grandchildren Matthew and Tegan Barnhart and was actively involved with Kyle, her other grandson. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life. If you spent much time around her, she came to consider your family. She worked in several factories over the years including Jack Links, JBS, Mom's Meals, and EPC before she medically retired.  At any place she worked for long, people began to call her Mom or "Mom Angie".

Angie's generous heart extended to animals as well with many dogs making her house their home over the years. For the past few years, Angie resided in Grinnell and battled cancer with her close friend Edith Hulbert by her side and the support of her closest friends (Danielle Enriquez, Tina Halterman, Samantha Blowers, and her cousin Toni Burch).

She is preceded in death by her mother (Thelma), husband (Ray), brothers Scott and Michael (Amanda) Rix.

She is survived by her children Samantha Rix, Christopher Rix and Noel Rix, sister Heather (Jimmy) Novak, brother George (Shona) Rix, brother William (Stacey) Warner and multiple nieces, nephews and cousins. Her many friends, and friends who became family will miss her now that she has gone to be with Ray again.
