Anita Sutfin, 84 of Montezuma passed away Saturday morning, May 6, 2023 at the Brooklyn Estates in Brooklyn. A funeral service will begin at 10:30 am Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at the Community Hope Church in Montezuma with a luncheon to follow in the fellowship hall of the church. Visitation will begin after 12:00 pm on Monday, May 8, 2023 with the family present to greet friends and relatives from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated in the family's name to be designated at a later time. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.

Anita Louise (Riddle) Sutfin was born on May 15, 1938 to Fred and Emily Herzog Riddle at Chicago, Illinois. She attended and graduated from Carl Shurz High School in Chicago in 1956. On December 1, 1956, Anita was united in marriage to Bob Sutfin in Chicago, Illinois. To this union seven children were born, Kathy, Bob, Debbie, Daniel, Julie, Sean and Bill. In 1973, she and Bob purchased a farm near Malcom raising hogs, cattle, and her children. She worked at the Malcom Quarry until 1977 and also worked with Home Health. They then purchased Montgomery Ward and Apple Craft in Grinnell before starting Sutfin Real Estate in Montezuma. Anita also owned Sutfin Furniture selling furniture, appliances, and owning the Living Green Flower Shop and Watson Printing. She was also a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Grinnell. Family was very important to Anita and Bob was her number one. They enjoyed Sunday family time and also the Chicago Bears and Cubs. Anita and Bob loved dancing and Anita enjoyed quilting and sewing.

Anita is survived by her children, Kathy (Dave) Grier, Montezuma, Bob (Rochell) Sutfin, Montezuma, Debbie (Don) Taylor, Malcom, Daniel (Brenda) Sutfin, Deep River, Julie Cheney, Deep River, Sean (Bambi) Sutfin, Deep River, and William (Tammy) Sutfin, Montezuma; 22 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter; her sisters, Donna Smith, Bondurant and Helen (Rick) Whitman, Montezuma; sister-in-law, Camille Riddle as well as many other friends and relatives.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob; her son-in-law, Rex Cheney; her brothers, Fredrick (Denise) Riddle, Thomas Riddle, Charles Riddle; brother-in-law, Jim Smith; sister, Dorethy (Bud) Lieumeux; two nephews, Richard L. Lieumeux and John David Lieueux; and a niece, Diana Bonner.
