Ann Marie Grant, of Waukee,  was born on August 7, 1967 in Grinnell to Clifton and Mary Schultz. She was baptized and confirmed at the St. John's Lutheran Church near Victor. Ann grew up on the family farm near Grinnell and graduated from Grinnell High School. After high school, Ann went on to receive her bachelor's degree in psychology from St. Olaf College. She later moved to San Francisco and received her master's degree in counseling psychology from the University of San Francisco. Ann dedicated much of her life to the mental health field in which she worked as a mental health counselor for numerous non-profit organizations. She had a passion for helping others.

Ann was married to Terry Grant and was the proud mother of two children, Quentin and Meredith. They were truly her greatest joy in life. She spend much of her free time attending her twins' many activities and cherished watching them grow to adulthood. Ann loved being around her family. She enjoyed various family excursions and treasured every moment they were together.

Ann is survived by her children, Quentin Grant and Meredith Grant both of Des Moines;  her parents, Clifton and Mary Schultz; her siblings,  Chip (Darlene) Schultz and Christen (Bart) Berg; her nieces, Audra Schultz, Elizabeth Schultz and Ellie Dueland; her nephew, Fredrick Schultz, as well as many other relatives and friends.

An open gathering of friends and relatives will be held at the St. John's Lutheran Church near Victor at 11:30 am Tuesday, March 7, 2023. The funeral and burial will be held privately by the family. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Ann's name. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is assisting Ann's family in arrangements.
