Betty M. Gott died on January 14, 2019, at the age of 88. She was born on June 17, 1930, to Grant and Wilda (Conger) Hollingsworth at their farm near Ollie, IA. She graduated from Ollie High School in 1947 where she was one of nine girls in her class, five of which were named Betty. She subsequently attended Parsons College, where she received her teacher's certificate, and taught for a short time in a rural school near Libertyville in Jefferson County. She married her beloved husband, Charles "Charlie" Gott on December 17, 1949, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. For the majority of her work career, she was employed by the Iowa Department of Human Services. During their 67 years of marriage, Betty and Charlie enjoyed roller skating, square and country dancing and golfing, and for many years spent winters in Apache Junction, AZ. Her family brought her much joy, and she was devoted to her grandchildren. She was a member of the "I'll Be Seein' You" Club and a lifelong member of the Ollie Baptist Church.

Surviving family members include two daughters: Sharman (Tom) Neece of Sigourney and Terri (Steve) Bowles of Raymore, MO; three grandchildren: Amy (Curt) Kahler, Stephanie (Tyler) Downey and Dustin (Jennifer) Bowles; ten great grandchildren: Dakota, Noah and Delaney Kahler; Sadie Bowles; Cate, Grant and Sloane Downey; and Aubree, Hailee and Felicity Hosiner; special niece, Denise Willhoit; sister, Nell (Gary) Petterson; three sisters-in-law: Dorothy Hollingsworth, Marilyn Gott and Betty C. Gott; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Willis Hollingsworth.

A private celebration of life is planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Keokuk County. The Holland-Coble Funeral Home in What Cheer is in charge of arrangements.
