Bob McWilliams, 74 of Montezuma passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at his Montezuma home surrounded by his family.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 9, beginning at 11:00 am at the Community Hope Church in Montezuma.  Burial will be held at a later date.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 8, beginning at noon with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Community Hope Church.  Memorials may be directed to the Montezuma Fire Department or the Lewy Body Dementia organization.  Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.

Robert Ray McWilliams was born on August 11, 1948 in Grinnell, Iowa to Dean and Marie Wenger McWilliams.  He was raised on the farm and attended and graduated from Montezuma School.  Bob attended some college at Ellsworth and Marshalltown Community College.  Bob married Kathryn Southwick in Riverside on June 26, 1976.  To this union their daughter, Amber, was born.  They later divorced.  Bob farmed with his dad, Dean, in the Deep River area most of his life.  He also worked at Bushong Construction for a few years in the summer during his younger years.  Bob was united in marriage to Irena Harris on February 14, 2000 in Williamsburg.  Bob continued farming with his father.  He enjoyed livestock, horse back riding, camping, hunting, golfing, the Iowa Hawkeyes, and camping for many years at the Iowa State Fair. Bob was a member of the Jaycees, participated in fast pitch softball and attended many rodeos.  He ran a DJ service, Pure Country, and always ended the evening with "Happy Trails."  Bob enjoyed entertaining many friends as "Cowboy Bob" for several years winning several contests and always filling the venue with his many friends.  He never knew a stranger and was always a good friend.  Bob was also involved in the Pony Express serving as President for several terms.  Following his father's death, Bob retired from farming and bought a place in Farmington where they lived until Bob's heart attack nine years ago.  They sold their place in Farmington and moved back to Montezuma. His grandchildren were a huge part of his life.

Bob was a member of the Montezuma Country Club and the Sons of the American Legion.

Bob is survived by his wife, Irena of Montezuma; his children, Amber (Mark Tieman) McWilliams of Mediapolis, Christy (Chad) Weidemann of Marion, and Johnny (Angie) Lesher of Eddyville; his sister, Mary (Tom) Wynia of Story City; his grandchildren, Jackson, Shelby, Madison, Sawyer, Jamey, MaLaynie, Maddux, Kinzley, Nora, and Carson; as well as many other friends and relatives.
