Bonnie Jean Baltimore (Johannes), age 77, unexpectedly passed away Monday morning, June 23, 2025 at her residence. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 10:00 am on Friday, June 27, 2025 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma. Burial will be held privately at the West Liberty Cemetery west of Montezuma. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.

Bonnie was born the daughter of Harlan and Maxine (Hicks) Johannes, on March 18, 1948, in Montezuma, Iowa. A devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Bonnie loved her family. Family photos embellished the walls of her home. Having family visits was always a highlight of her. And whoever visits is assured of being offered a warm plate of food.

Bonnie retired from Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance Company. She soon became restless and re-entered the workforce as an employee of Wal-Mart where she worked for over 20 years. Unfortunately, health issues forced her to leave the public workforce, but that didn't stop her. She loved doing crafts, whether it was wood-working or just painting her ceramic creatures to display in her yard. She was also a longtime collector of vintage decorative glassware.Bonnie will be remembered for her kindness, her welcoming smile, and her warm hugs. Her loving and sunny presence were gifts to anyone who knew her.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Harlen and Maxine Johannes; sisters, Bev (Wesley) Smich and Barb Pagel and a brother, Dan Johannes.

She was survived by her children, Steve (Dawn) Lash and Paula (Bruce) Peters; grandchildren, Brandon Lash and Lindsey (David) Butler; great grandchildren, Kaylee and Khyran Butler; a sister, Tammi (Scott) Wagenknecht; a brother, Jayme (Stacie) Johannes; sister-in-law, Deb Johannes; brother-in-law, Gary Pagel; nephews, Koby Pagel, Ben Johannes, Matt (Jennifer) Johannes, Travis (Amy) Johannes and Jeremy Johannes; a niece, Lacey Johannes and grandson, Lane Story and his family. Bonnie leaves many other family members and friends who will forever cherish and remember her.
