Bonnie Guler, 82 of New Sharon passed away Wednesday morning, November 28, 2018 at the Northern Mahaska Rehabilitation Center in Oskaloosa. Memorial services will begin at 11:00 am Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the New Sharon First Christian Church. A visitation/luncheon will be held after the service in the fellowship hall of the church. Burial will be held at a later date at the Sharon Chapel Cemetery near Centerville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Northern Mahaska Rehabilitation Center Activities Fund.

Bonnie Sue Guler, the daughter of Worthy "Dick" and Hazel (Evans) Bogle, was born on July 11, 1936 in Iowa City, Iowa. She graduated from Burlington High School in 1954. On May 7, 1955, Bonnie was united in marriage to William "Bill" Guler in Lancaster, MO. To this union four children were born, Becky, Tim, Doreen and Darrin. They lived on a farm near Centerville where Bonnie raised her children. She worked at McGraw-Eddison in Centerville for several years. She also worked at J.C. Penny's and Matco in Centerville before opening her flower shop in Moulton, Bonnie's Flower Nook. A few years after her husband passed away, Bonnie moved to the New Sharon area to be closer to her family. The last 13 years, Bonnie spent living at the Northern Mahaska Rehabilitation Center where she made many friends and received the name Bon Bon from many of the nurses there. She was very crafty and loved painting and flower arranging. She also enjoyed playing cards, bowling, camping and square dancing. Family was very important to Bonnie and loved getting her family together during the holidays and spending as much time with them as she can.

Her legacy will be cherished by her children, Becky (Terry) Whicker of New Sharon, Tim (Becky) Guler of San Antonio, TX, Doreen (Dennis) Barber of Mitchellville and Darrin Guler of Beacon; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a great-great grandson; a brother, Tom (Diane) Bogle of Centerville; a sister, Dee Ann Evans of Numa; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; a great granddaughter, CharLee Shepard; an infant brother, Pierce Bogle and a brother-in-law, Jeff Evans.

Bonnie's family would like to extend a special thank you to the caring staff at the Northern Mahaska Rehabilitation Center for the wonderful and passionate care she received.
