Brandon Thompson Floden, 30, of Montezuma, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the Pella Hospice Comfort House in Pella, Iowa, surrounded by his family. In 2015, Brandon was diagnosed with brain cancer. Brandon continued to have a very caring and positive outlook on life and enjoyed spending his time with others. Memorial services will begin at 2:00 pm Sunday, November 11, 2018 at the Community Hope Church Fellowship Hall in Montezuma with a reception to follow with family greeting friends until 5:00 pm. Family kindly requests no flowers be sent and for those whom desire, memorial contributions may be made in the family's name to be used as a scholarship at the Montezuma Community School can sent to the Holland-Coble Funeral Home, P.O. Box 727, Montezuma, Iowa 50171.

Brandon was born on February 12, 1988 at Oskaloosa, Iowa, the son of Mark Floden and Janet Thompson Floden. He graduated from Montezuma High School in 2006. Brandon then served two years in the United States Army where he worked with a diverse group of individuals, as well as in high stress environments. After serving his enlistment time, he began his college career at the University of Northern Iowa. While going to school full time, he also worked full time at Cedar Valley Community Support Services where he was a mentor and assisted mentally disabled people in their homes. Brandon graduated in 2014 from UNI with a Bachelor's Degree in English. Brandon understood work ethic and excelled in his communication skills. He loved playing his guitar and piano and especially spending time with his family and friends.


Brandon is survived by his parents, Mark Floden of Montezuma and Janet Peiffer of Washington; his brother, Aaron Floden of Montezuma, his sister, Casey Peiffer of Washington, Iowa; his paternal grandparents, Robert and Joan Floden of Fremont, Iowa; aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and many, many friends.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Henry and Betty Thompson and his aunt, Sherry Thompson.


Brandon will always be remembered for his contagious smile and his sense of humor. He had a positive impact on many and was a good and caring son and friend.
