Brenda Conn, 61 of Searsboro passed away Thursday morning, December 5, 2024 at the University of Iowa Hospital.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in New Sharon beginning at 11:00 am.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 10:00 am.  Burial will be held at a later date. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.

Brenda Lea Conn, the daughter of Dewayne Shaffer and Delma Strickler Shaffer, was born on March 15, 1963 in Keosauqua, Iowa.  She attended school at Centerville Senior High.  On April 25, 1981, she was united in marriage to Donald Conn at Attica, Iowa.  To this union two daughters were born, Jessica and Rachel.  She was a stay-at-home mom and worked at Oskaloosa Food Products, then left to attend the Iowa School of Beauty.  She worked in a beauty shop before buying the shop and running it on her own for several years.  After selling the shop, she went to work at Monte Manufacturing, then went to Precision Foods in New Sharon.  She most recently was employed at Vermeer Corp.  Brenda enjoyed scrap booking, puzzles, and reading.  She enjoyed antique stuff.  She also enjoyed geode hunting, especially with her grandkids.  She had a passion for collecting marbles.  She loved to play Yahtzee and board games with her grandkids.  Brenda spent most of her life in New Sharon where she raised her girls.

Brenda is survived by her daughters, Jessica (Jeremy) Smith and Rachel Reed; grandchildren, Mason, Blake, Baylea Smith and Alli and Chance Reed; her sisters, Barb (Dave) Bell, Betty (Mike) Ward and Benita (Craig) McCoy.

She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Maxine Strickler.
