Charles Shores, 71 of Montezuma passed away Sunday afternoon, June 30, 2024 at the Montezuma Specialty Care in Montezuma. As was his wish, his body has been cremated and no services are planned. Memorial contributions may be made in the family's name (checks made payable to Debora Shores) for the family to decide on a memorial at a later time and may be sent to Holland-Coble Funeral Home; In Care of Charles Shores; P.O. Box 727; Montezuma, Iowa 50171. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.

Charles "Bo" Edward Shores, the son of John Silas and Virginia Mae (Thompson) Shores, was born on July 28, 1952 in Alma, Arkansas. He attended school in Van Buren, Arkansas. On January 5, 1974, Charlie was united in marriage to Debora Hill in Hevener, OK. To this union two sons were born, Charles Jr. and Jeremy. Charlie held several jobs throughout life, was a Jack of all trades and always provided for his family. He enjoyed fishing, playing pool, never met a stranger and above all loved his family and was a great friend.

His memory will be honored by his wife of 50 years, Debora Shores of Montezuma; his sons, Charles Shores Jr. of Brookings, South Dakota and Jeremy (Taylor Gregson) Shores of Grinnell; three grandsons, Steven, Spencer and Simon; one granddaughter, Georgia; two sisters, Mary Willis of Springfield, MO and Karen Smith of Fort Smith, AR; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
