Chuck Taylor, 81 of New Sharon, passed away Saturday evening, September 28, 2024 at the Mahaska Health Partnership Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa. A Celebration of Life will begin at 11:00 am Friday, October 18, 2024 at the Lighthouse Church in New Sharon. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.  A luncheon will be held immediately following the service in the fellowship hall of the church. Burial of his cremains will be held in the Jackson Township Cemetery in Montezuma. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lighthouse Church or the MHP Hospice Serenity House. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.

Charles Edwin Taylor the son of Earl and Mary Virginia (Johnson) Taylor, was born on November 18, 1942 in Montezuma, Iowa. He was the oldest of four siblings. Chuck graduated from Montezuma High School in 1961.  Chuck was united in marriage to Linda Gass and to this union three daughters were born, Courtney, Katrisha and Kristen.  Chuck worked at Sigs Manufacturing before beginning his driving career at Warner Transport, Diomatic and Roorda Transport, retiring after 30 plus years of driving due to health concerns.  Chuck was an Iowa Hawkeye fan before becoming an Iowa State fan, especially ISU Women's basketball and ISU football.  He was also an LA Dodgers fan, New England Patriots fan and enjoyed playing cards, cribbage and dominoes.  He was a people person and loved watching his grandsons play sports.  His newest hobby was riding his electric bike.  Chuck was a very faithful member of the Lighthouse Church in New Sharon where he belonged to Men's Bible Study along with helping with funeral luncheons and the Valentine's dinners.

His memory will be honored by his daughters, Courtney (Karl) Williamson of Round Rock, Texas, Katrisha (Travas Herman) Heidemann of Des Moines and Kristen (Jason) Hatcher of West Des Moines; four grandchildren, Taylor (Allison) Williamson, Alex (Maddy) Williamson, Kade Hatcher and Konner Hatcher; a brother, Jack (Lana) Taylor of Montezuma; a sister, Linda (Chuck) Boeding; longtime friend Kennetha Criswell along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Virginia Taylor and two brothers, Bill Taylor and Gearold "Punk" Taylor.
