Clint Allen Current, 54, of Ewart, IA, passed away Monday morning, February 20, 2023 at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 25, at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held in the Pleasant Township Cemetery in Ewart. As a request by Clint's family, please dress casual and feel free to wear Harley-Davidson, Dallas Cowboys, Iowa Hawkeyes, or Skidoo attire. Memorial contributions may be designated in the families name. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of the arrangements.

Clint was born in Sigourney, Iowa, on April 6, 1968. He was the first son of Larry and Betty Pierce Current. He grew up in What Cheer, Barnes City, Oskaloosa, and later lived in Montezuma and then moved to Ewart in 1992. He graduated from North Mahaska High School in 1987.

Clint started working when he was young. He mowed yards, shoveled snow, and helped a farmer. After graduating from high school, he began working at Montezuma Manufacturing in 1988 and worked there for over 34 years. While working at Montezuma Manufacturing the company sent him to Canada to compete in a Fork Lift competition. He also mowed some cemeteries and some church yards, and continued working for the farmer for many years while working at Montezuma Manufacturing. Clint took great pride in taking care of his yard, and keeping things spotless including his shop.

In 1990, Clint married Jennifer Grimm and to this union they had two children, Chloe and Cody. They later divorced. Clint loved his children and wished he was able to spend more time with them. He always made Christmas special for them when they were younger. He was also a big jokester to them when they were growing up. You never knew when he was hiding around a corner to scare them. He enjoyed watching Rocky and Rambo movies with Chloe and Cody. Clint attended many events for the children when they were growing up. He went to dance recitals to watch Chloe and loved going to the football games to watch Cody.

Clint married the love of his life, Melissa "Dee" Turner Moyer, on December 12, 2012 in her dad's backyard in San Antonio, TX. Clint and Dee enjoyed every minute of their lives together. Dee had a motorcycle, so Clint had to get one to keep up with her. He loved his Harley and polished it for hours so it always sparkled. They enjoyed taking vacations together and going to concerts. Clint loved the Iowa State Fair so they had to go four or five times each year. Clint liked country music and rock music; some of his favorites were Van Halen, Carrie "Sweet Cheeks" Underwood, Eric Church, Def Leppard and many others. Clint always wanted to ride in RAGBRAI, so he and Dee rode the whole week in 2017. Then they rode at least a day of RAGBRAI after 2017. Clint and Dee went deer and pheasant hunting every winter. He enjoyed camping with his family. Clint was a Jeff Gordon fan and always cheered on the Dallas Cowboys. When he and Dee toured the Dallas Cowboys stadium he got to meet one of the cheerleaders and he got to walk on the field, he loved that. Clint went on many snowmobiling trips with his friends in Wyoming and you would occasionally see him riding his snowmobile to work. Clint and Dee got their hunting dog, Kacey, almost two years ago. She was pretty spoiled by Clint. When Clint talked about retiring, he always talked about having a Bud Light and a big cigar. So here's to you Clint!

Clint is survived by his wife, Melissa "Dee" of Ewart; his parents, Larry and Betty Current of Montezuma; his children, Chloe and Cody Current of Grinnell; step-daughter, Amanda (Mike Stoner) Moyer of Grinnell; his step-grandson, Bradley Moyer of Grinnell; his brothers, Matthew Current of Barnes City and Adam (Marlene) Current of Gilman; Father-in-law, Dennis (Margaret) Turner of San Antonio, TX; Mother-in-law, Donna Turner of Grinnell, Sisters-in-law Michelle (Scott) Wallace of Minnetrista, MN and Monica (Rick) Moyer of Grinnell; and his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. Clint is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
