Coleen Readshaw, 86 formerly of New Sharon passed away Tuesday afternoon, January 9, 2024 at UnityPoint Health St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids.  A Celebration of Life will begin at 10:30 am Saturday, March 9, 2024 at the Lighthouse Church in New Sharon. Burial will be held in the Friends Cemetery in New Sharon. A luncheon will be held in the fellowship hall of the church following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the family's name. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of New Sharon is in charge of arrangements.

Coleen Marie Readshaw, the daughter of Roscoe and Marie Frances (Pohlman) Moore, was born on October 18, 1937 in Coralville, Iowa. She graduated from New Sharon High School in 1955 then attended Beauty School in Ottumwa. On June 1, 1958, Coleen was united in marriage to Vernon Readshaw at the New Sharon United Methodist Church. To this union four boys were born, Rocky Dean, David, Michael and Mark. While Vernon was in the service, Coleen worked at GTE in Grinnell. She also worked a short time in a beauty salon before having kids. Coleen was mainly a homemaker and continued to work parttime in hair salons after having kids. She enjoyed camping, fishing, playing cards and traveling. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed to bake. She especially enjoyed teaching her children and grandchildren how to cook and bake. She also spent a lot of time watching ballgames on T.V. and rooting for the Iowa Hawkeyes.  Coleen was a member of the Lighthouse Church along with the Loyal Daughters and Vantastics.

Her legacy will be honored by her children, David Readshaw of New Sharon, Michael (Renea) Readshaw of Cedar Rapids and Mark (Debora) Readshaw of Fairfax; four grandchildren, Whitney Readshaw of Cedar Rapids, Courtney Readshaw of Cedar Rapids, Sierra (Nick) Belluchi of Tiffin and Jacy Jean Chiaramonte of Cedar Falls; six great grandchildren, Briella, Kohen, Nevaeh, Jakovi, Declan and Nolan; two brothers, John (Judy) Lympus of Cedar Rapids and David (Roberta) Lympus of Sheuyville and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Coleen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vernon Readshaw in 2021; a son in infancy, Rocky Dean Readshaw and a brother, Donald Moore.
