Constance Mae Ellis, age 60, died of cancer in her home in San Jose on March 22, 2019. Her husband Rich and daughter, Kate, were by her side. A Celebration of Life was held for Constance April 14, 2019 in San Jose, CA and Graveside Military Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, June 22, 2019 at the Jackson Township Cemetery in Montezuma.

Constance was born May 29, 1958 in Grinnell to Robert and Betty (Gregory) Ellis. She attended schools in Montezuma, Hedrick, Platte City, MO, Waterloo and Cedar Falls. Constance received her BA in Nursing from San Jose State. In 1996 she was united in marriage to Richard Logsdon in Montezuma. They were blessed with one daughter, Katherine Mae.

Major Constance Ellis served in the military for 20 years until her retirement in 2009. She was also a nurse in the Labor and Delivery and high-risk Pregnancy Department at Good Samaritan Hospital for 20 years, retiring in 2019. Constance enjoyed quilting, reading, walking the dogs and traveling, especially to the ocean.

Survivors include her husband, Rich, daughter Kate, mother Betty Ellis of Grinnell, brothers Chris (Lorna) Loftin, of Platte City, MO., Greg (LuAnn) Ellis of Des Moines; Richard (Sandy) Ellis of Webster City. Also many aunts, uncles, cousin and supportive friends.

She was proceeded in death by her father, Robert; grandparents, Paul and May Ellis; Mae Gregory, Oral Gregory and David and Bertha Loftin.
