Dalton Jones, 69 of Montezuma passed away Monday, November 28, 2022 in Des Moines. A private family graveside service will be held in the Ivy Hill Cemetery in Malcom. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in family's name and may be sent to the Holland-Coble Funeral Home, in care of Dalton Jones, P.O. Box 727, Montezuma, Iowa 50171. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.

Dalton Russell Jones, the son of Donald and Rose (Kots) Jones, was born on July 24, 1953 in Hampton, Iowa. He graduated from Dumont High School and then attended Lincoln Technical Institute receiving a degree in Diesel Mechanic. On August 17, 1979, Dalton was united in marriage to Jo Plesek in Brooklyn, Iowa. He worked as a diesel mechanic at several places in northern Iowa before working at John Deere in Aplington and Grinnell and most recently Certainteed Corp in Grinnell until he was disabled in 2000 with a heart attack. Dalton enjoyed keeping busy tinkering on anything and he also worked part time for Mike Roberts in Deep River.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Jones of Montezuma; two sons, Nickolas (Adena) Jones of Pleasant Hope, MO and Cole (Christine Grier) Jones of Montezuma; one grandson, Kyson Jones; his sister, Phylis (Ron) Krukow along with other relatives and friends.

Dalton was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Rose Jones; a son, Bryden Jones; a daughter in infancy, Kylee Jones and his brother, Lowell Jones.
