Danny Malloy, 77, of Montezuma, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. He was surrounded by his family. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions will be used to place a bench at the Eddyville Raceway Park in honor of Dan and checks may be payable to Beverly Malloy to purchase the bench. Danny Mac Malloy, the son of Jack and Betty (Freeborn) Malloy, was born on March 29, 1948 in Oskaloosa, IA. He graduated from Montezuma High School with the class of 1966. Shortly after high school, Dan enlisted with the United States Army serving at the Nato Headquarters in Izmir, Turkey during the Vietnam War. On May 25, 1968, Danny was united in marriage to Beverly Stephen in Minneapolis, MN. Following his honorable discharge, Dan sold insurance for a while before beginning his career as a rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service for over 30 years.  After retirement, Dan and Bev spent their winters in Bullhead City, Arizona, enjoying time together and staying active.

He had a lifelong love for anything with an engine, especially drag racing—and spent countless weekends at the racetrack with his twin sons. He also enjoyed traveling, gambling, and working on projects in the garage. Danny will be remembered for his strong work ethic, quick wit, and love of family and racing. His presence will be missed, but the memories will last forever.

Dan is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bev of Montezuma; his sons Tony (Dawn) Malloy of Williamsburg and Chris (Krystal) Malloy of Altoona; his five grandchildren, Chase Malloy, Morgan Malloy, Jenna (Jaden) Creps, Caden Frizell and Steven (Bree) Frizell; two great grandchildren, Milo and Tali Frizell;  four sisters, Hettie (Jim) Maschmann, Patti (Terry) McBurney, Tina Skates, and Cara (Michael) McKeag along with many other nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Betty Malloy, and his sister Jackie Griffith.
