David Farrington, 54 of Montezuma passed away of natural causes Saturday, October 29, 2022 at his home near Montezuma. Celebration of Life Service will begin at 10:30 am Friday, November 4, 2022 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma. Burial will be held in the West Liberty Cemetery west of Montezuma. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday evening, November 3, 2022 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma. Memorials may be made in the family's name to determine a memorial at a later time. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.

David Scott Farrington, the son of Jim and Norma Jean (Tish) Farrington, was born on September 3, 1968. He graduated from Montezuma High School in 1986. Following high school, Dave enlisted with the United States Navy where he was stationed in San Diego. Following his discharge, Dave moved to Arizona where he worked for Dillon Precision and was the shipping manager. On May 18, 1991, Dave was united in marriage to Cheryl Wilcox at the Montezuma United Methodist Church. To this union two daughters were born, Andrea and Cassie. Dave moved his family back to Montezuma in 1998 and he worked at Street Rod Productions as a painter before working at Ace Hardware in Grinnell and then most recently working at Sig Manufacturing. Following Dave's divorce, he found a companion and partner with Celeste Engelbarts. Dave and Celeste enjoyed ranger riding along with his dog, Roxy. He also enjoyed singing Karaoke, working on kinds of small engines most of all just hanging out with his friends in his mancave.

His memory will be cherished by his daughter, Cassie (Matthew) Harrison of Fort Benning, GA; his grandson, Cohen Harrison; his siblings, Nancy (Walter) Hagist of Searsboro, Rebecca (Skip) Fatzinger of Montezuma; Pamela (Michael) Benelli of Phoenix, AZ and Scott (Shelley Bianchi) Farrington of Montezuma along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Norma Jean Farrington; a daughter, Andrea Farrington; a brother, Alan Farrington, a niece, Shawna Hicks; a nephew, Tony Farrington and longtime companion, Celeste Engelbarts.
