Dean Van Wyk, 63 of New Sharon went home to Jesus on November 27, 2024 at his home under hospice care. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 am Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Engage Church (formerly New Sharon Assembly of God Church). Burial will be held at the Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa. Visitation will be held at the Engage Church on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 beginning at 12:00 pm with the family present from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Engage Church or UnityPoint Hospice. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of New Sharon is in charge of arrangements.

Dean Stuart Van Wyk, the son of David and Edith (Kamerick) Van Wyk, was born on September 2, 1961 in Grinnell, Iowa. He graduated from Lynnville-Sully High School in 1980 and then farmed in the Reasnor and Sully area. On December 19, 1987, Dean was united in marriage to Vicki Patterson. He retired from farming in 1995 and moved to an acreage by New Sharon. He then began working at Montezuma Manufacturing retiring in 2024. He was a faithful member of the New Sharon Assembly of God Church helping in the nursery with his wife, Vicki. He enjoyed hunting squirrels and rabbits along with scouting second hand stores for "Treasures", watching old time power shows (Steam Powered Tractors) and going on vacations to Arizona with his wife, Vicki.

Dean's memory is honored by his wife, Vicki of New Sharon; his sisters, Gayle (Burley) Harmon of Sully and Kathy Van Wyhe of Sully along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Edith Van Wyk.
