Debora Shipley, 65, of Keswick, died Thursday, December 28th, 2023, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral services will begin at 2:00pm on Sunday, December 31st, 2023, at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in What Cheer. Visitation will begin at 11:00am on Sunday and last until the time of service. Interment will be in the Indianopolis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family or the Pulmonary Hypertension Association.

Debora Kay Shipley was born May 26th, 1958, in Pasadena, California, the daughter of Glen and Arlene LaForce Thatcher. She was a 1976 graduate of Oskaloosa High School. She began her working career at Kingsberry Homes in Sigourney. After marrying Richard Shipley, Debora became a full-time homemaker and mother of three daughters. Then, in 1988 she accepted a position with Whirlpool in Amana where she worked until 2016. Debora possessed a strong work ethic. Over the years, Debora took great honor in being the primary caregiver for her aging parents. She enjoyed boating, rock-and-roll music, and hanging out with her friends. Above all, her pride and joy came from her children and grandchildren and from providing them a better life. They gave purpose to her life.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Arlene Thatcher.

Debora is survived by her three daughters; Stephanie (Eric) Shilling, Stacie (Cory) Havill, and Susanne (Sam) Crews; her seven grandchildren, Elijah and Mikiah Shilling, Braeton, Mason and Landon Havill, Camden and Charlee Crews. She also leaves behind her loyal canine friend, Charlotte.
