Denny Bryan, 71 of Oskaloosa, went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday evening, July 12, 2026 at his home in Oskaloosa under hospice care. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am Friday, July 17, 2026 at the Gateway Church of the Nazarene in Oskaloosa. Burial will be held in the Friends Cemetery in Oskaloosa. Visitation will begin after 12:00 pm Thursday, July 16, 2026 at the Gateway Church of the Nazarene in Oskaloosa with the family present from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Concert On The Square or SHEEPGATE Ministries in Colfax, IA. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.

Dennis Craig Bryan, the son of Charles Edwin and Violet Kathleen (Newport) Bryan, was born on January 19, 1955, in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He graduated from Montezuma High School with the class of 1973. On January 12, 1974, Denny was united in marriage to Marcy Plate at the Oskaloosa Church Of The Nazarene. To this union three children were born, Melissa, Michelle and Matt. In 1992, the family was blessed with an additional four children Nick, Ashley, Amber and Shelby. In 1983, Denny started Modern Floor Covering located at Fun Valley near Montezuma before purchasing the International Implement building in Montezuma. In 1995, Denny and Marcy moved the business to Oskaloosa and in 2001 it moved to its current location.

Denny's passion was his Lord and Savior, and he loved to share the gospel and his testimony. He took great pride in showing people the path to the Lord and helped them kick their addictions. He loved to counsel and pray with anyone that needed help. Denny grew up in the New Sharon Friends Church and received Christ as his personal Savior at the 1st Church Of The Nazarene at age 16. He and Marcy were heavily involved in children's ministry there for several years. After moving back to Montezuma in 1988, he continued to pour his heart and soul in the New Sharon Friends Church, where he preached and ran small groups and Bible Studies.

His legacy will be honored by his wife of 52 years, Marcy of Oskaloosa; his children, Melissa (Dennis) Vasconez of Ottumwa, Michelle (Corey) Holland of Pella and Matt (Melanie) Bryan of Oskaloosa, Nick Thompson of Oskaloosa and Ashley Bryan of Oskaloosa; his grandchildren, Caleb  (Kennedi) Vasconez, Ethan Vasconez, Ilana Vasconez, Mason Holland, Camden Holland, Madison Holland, Lexie Bryan, Kien Bryan and Preslie Bryan; a great grandson, Colson Vasconez; his siblings, Ron (Joyce) Bryan, Carol (Jim) Means, Rick (Connie) Bryan, Joy (Dean) Hubbard and Kelly (Lori) Bryan along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

Denny was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Kay Bryan, his father-in-law Glen Plate  and a brother, Terry and (Linda) Bryan.
