Derrell Clark, 86 of Barnes City, Iowa passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023 at his Barnes City Home.  Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, March 22, at 10:30 am at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma. Burial will be held in the Barnes City Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 21, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma with the family present.  Memorial contributions may be directed to TeenServe through the United Methodist Church of New Sharon.

Derrell Dwyne Clark, son of Ray and Edna Bond Clark, was born on August 3, 1936 in New Sharon, Iowa.  He attended school in New Sharon and began working to help support his family at a young age.  Derrell was married to Janite Coatney in 1957 and to this union five children were born; Greg, Beth, Dennis, Lewis and Tammy.  He was  a heavy equipment operator and mechanic.  Derrell worked all over the country and overseas as well doing heavy equipment work.  He was united in marriage to Sue     DeHoedt on December 27, 1979.  They became the parents of Buck and Mike.  Derrell continued his work with heavy equipment and also drove a semi.  He also worked on the pipeline and traveled to several different countries where he was very talented in his mechanic work.  Derrell  worked as a service tech at Gibbs Cook in northern Iowa, at  Seaton Construction, and  retired from PCI but never stopped working.  He was an avid reader of Western books and enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, and being outside tinkering on anything.  He always stayed busy.  Family was very important to him and he enjoyed his grandchildren.

Derrell is survived by his wife, Sue, of Barnes City; his children, Buck (Shana) Clark of Barnes City, Mike (Jeanne) Clark of New Sharon, Elizabeth Hanson of Barnes City, Dennis (Jane) Clark of Rochester, Mn., and Tammy (Randy) Baysinger of Arnolds Park, Ia.; 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren;  a sister, Beulah Thompson of New Sharon;  as well as many other nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his  sons, Greg Simmons and Lewis Clark; and his brothers, Ray Clark Jr. and Kenny Clark.
