Donna Maye Clingan, age 91, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend died Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at the Manor House Care Center in Sigourney. A service will be on Saturday, July 26 at the Ollie Baptist Church at 10:30 a.m.

Donna Maye was born in Ollie, Iowa to Clarence and Ruth Andeway. Donna was one of eight children in the home. She graduated from Ollie High School in 1952. After high school, she was united in marriage to Wilmer Clingan. Together, they brought four sons into the world. Donna and Wilmer later divorced.

Donna spent 25 years working at the Maytag factory, where she remained until retiring in 1990. Upon retirement, she embraced a well-earned life filled with the simple joys that brought her happiness. Donna found true fulfillment in the kitchen, where her cooking became the cornerstone of countless family gatherings. When she wasn't in the kitchen stirring up something delicious, she could often be found with a fishing pole in hand, embracing nature. But above all, her greatest joy came from watching her grandchildren grow—each smile, each milestone, each shared moment became a treasured gift. Donna was a member of the Ollie Baptist Church and was involved in the preparation of many funeral luncheons.

Donna is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Ruth Andeway: sons; Mike and Bruce; Sibling's Alan, Leonard, Gilbert, Mildred, and Linda.
She is survived by her sons; Steve (Becky) Clingan and David "Reggie" Clingan; 8 Grandchildren; 5 Great-grandchildren, along with sibling's Judy, Richard and Vicky along with a numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, each carrying forward her legacy of love, strength, and unwavering devotion. Donna will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
