Ed White, 95 of Montezuma passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2020 at his home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 beginning at 11:00 am at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma. Visitation will be held at 10:30 am at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Forest Cemetery at Oskaloosa. Memorials may be directed to the Montezuma United Methodist Church. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, social distancing will be recommended along with wearing the proper Personal Protective Equipment and will be provided for those in need. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.

Edison White, Jr., was born on May 11, 1925 at Marion, Iowa to Edison White, Sr., and LaRue Jager White. Ed married Evelyn Baltimore and to this union their daughter, Marcia, was born. Ed enlisted in the US Air Force and was stationed in New Mexico where he served as a test pilot and was part of the protection unit of the West Coast during WWII. Following his discharge from the Air Force, he drove for Pepsi Cola in Oskaloosa and then began his career with Iowa Southern Utilities retiring after 30 years. He was very proud to keep his pilot's license active and owned two planes. He loved to tell the story of flying too close to the Kennedy Space Center and being escorted by two Air Force planes to another location. Ed married Rose Riley in May of 1999. Ed and Rose loved to dance and spent their winters in Pharr, Texas. He enjoyed woodworking and had built three grandfather clocks. Ed loved "tinkering" and fixing things. He spent many hours tending to his lawn and was proud of it. Ed was a member of the Montezuma United Methodist Church.

Ed is survived by his wife, Rose of Montezuma; his daughter, Marcia (Jeff) Wells of Fort Wayne, IN; his step-children, Larry (Bonnie) Meyers of Malcom, Dianne (Robert) Berrett of TX, and daughter-in-law, Carla Meyers of Norman, OK; three grandchildren, two great grandchildren with one on the way, eight step grandchildren and 12 step grandchildren, and many friends and relatives.

Ed is preceded in death by his parents, Edison and LaRue White, Sr., his step- son, David Meyers; his great-grandson Landon Callahan, and his sisters Jean Lewis and Lois Haffenden.
