Enid Phillips, 92, of What Cheer died peacefully at home on Saturday April 15, 2023. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in What Cheer. Visitation with the family will also be held Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 11:00 am. Burial will be held in the Garrett Cemetery near Delta. In lieu of memorials, contributions may be made to the family.

Enid Josephine (Kitzmann) Phillips was born on August 5, 1930 west of What Cheer on the family farm to Albert R and Zella (Emery) Kitzmann.  She was the seventh child of nine children.  She attended country school for eight years, Gibson school for two years and graduated from What Cheer High School in 1948. Enid was united in marriage to Donald L. Phillips on December 24, 1950 at the Sigourney Christian Church. They rented farm ground in the area until they purchased their farm north of What Cheer where Enid passed on Saturday April 15, 2023 at the age of 92.

Don and Enid had three children, Tommy, Regina, and Danny.  Enid enjoyed her family, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.  She also enjoyed baking, sewing, gardening, and her lambs.  Enid was not afraid of work, although if you asked her, she would tell you she "never worked a day in her life".  Being a farmer's wife, she took care of many chores, milking the cows, raising "her sheep", gardening, and always having breakfast, lunch and supper on the table.  Enid was a member of the Thornburg Methodist Church. She was a member of the United Methodist Women, and a 4-H Leader of the Keswick Klover Leaves for 35+ years. Enid was always baking and cooking sharing with everyone. She would make between 35-40 pies each Flea Market, to help raise money for the church.

Enid is survived by her husband Don, and daughter Regina (John) Leer of Keswick; her grandchildren, Scott Leer, Justin (Rebecca) Leer, Ann (Todd) Wadsworth, and Amy (Joe) Nicholson; 14 great grandchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren, a sister-in-law Arlene Nilles and many nieces and nephews.

Enid was preceded in death by both sons, Tommy and Danny; one great grandson, Johnathon; her parents; eight siblings and their spouses, Harvey (Opal) Kitzmann, Pauline (Jim) Hazen, Dewayne (Leora) Kitzmann, Dorothy (Marvin) Churchill, Leroy (Charlotte) Kitzmann, Louise (Fred) Bos, Emery (Phoebe) Strange, and John (Charlotte) Kitzmann.
