Frances Elliott, 88 of Montezuma, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her children, Friday afternoon, December 19, 2025 at Montezuma Specialty Care. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am Monday, December 22, 2025 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma with Pastor Ted Morelock officiating. Burial will be held in the Golden Rod Cemetery in Deep River. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2025 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Deep River American Legion Auxiliary, Jackson Church of Christ or the Montezuma Schools. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.

Frances Rebecca Elliott, the daughter of Ellys and AlVada (Robertson) Greene, was born on July 3, 1937 in Deep River, Iowa. She graduated from Deep River High School in 1955 as Salutatorian.   On November 13, 1955, Frances was united in marriage to Marion Elliott at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. To this union five children were born: Charla, Lyndon, Loren, Lance and Carrie. Frances was a busy homemaker and she and Marion started M.I.E. Inc. with Frances doing the books for the company.  They built their home in Deep River in 1963 and bought a farm west of Deep River in 1974. They built a home west of Deep River  in 1977.  Frances enjoyed gardening, mowing and taking care of her yard.  She was a Longaberger Consultant and they also attended the Union Mills Christian Church.  They enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida to visit relatives.  Frances was also a member of the Jackson Church of Christ, the Deep River American Legion Auxiliary and the Associated General Contractors.

Her legacy will be cherished by her children, Charla Elliott of Jefferson,  Lyndon (Lolita) Elliott of Iowa City, Loren (Teresa) Elliott of Montezuma, Lance (Sara) Elliott of Minnesota, and Carrie (Brian) Stockman of Montezuma; 18 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren;  her brother,  Jarold Greene of Deep River along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Marion, Marion's daughter, Kathy Miller, a grandson, Ryan Elliott, her sister, Marianne (Maurice) Manley  and her sister-in-law, Virginia Greene.
