Harold Wayne Sanders, 76, a resident of Blue Springs, MO passed away peacefully at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS Tuesday, June 25, 2024 from advanced pulmonary hypertension. Family and friends will gather to celebrate the wonderful life of Harold Sanders from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2024 at Meyers Funeral Chapel in Blue Springs, MO.  A second visitation will be held from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 1, 2024 at the Holland Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma, IA.  Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at the Holland Coble Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at the Jackson Township Cemetery in Montezuma, IA. He was born May 27, 1948 to Wendell and Betty Sanders in Montezuma, IA. Harold was a 1966 graduate of Montezuma High School.  He continued his education at Northwest Missouri State and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.  Harold worked as a mechanical engineer for Lutz, Daily and Brain, Burns and McDonnell and Sega Inc. for a total of 43 years.  He enjoyed driving his 1955 Chevy, watching the Kansas City Chiefs, woodworking, traveling, scuba diving, golfing, and keeping track of every penny he every spent.  Harold cherished spending time with his family, having movie and game nights frequently.

Harold is survived by his daughter, Melissa Sanders of Blue Springs, MO; son, Bradley Sanders and wife Amanda of Grinnell, IA; daughter, Terrina Storm and husband Chad of Queen Creek, AZ; grandchildren, Jaxson Sanders, Levi Sanders, Hazel Sanders, Aaron Storm, Kayla Storm, Mariya Storm; sister, Jane Vargason and husband Kenny of Montezuma, IA; numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, and cousins.

Harold is preceded in death by his parents, Wendell and Betty Sanders; an infant son, Shannon Wayne Sanders and a brother, Edgar Sanders.
