Imogene Pierce, 92 of What Cheer, died Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at the English Valley Care Center in North English. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 am on Friday, March 7, 2025, at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in What Cheer. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Burial will be in the Sixteen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Imogene Tanke Pierce Age 92 was born August 5, 1932, in Deep River, Iowa the daughter of William and Marie Koehn Tanke. She was raised and educated in the Deep River area. On August 16,1954 Imogene "Jean" Tanke was united in marriage to Boyd Pierce in Kirksville MO. They spent their life farming around the rural Keswick area. Jean loved taking walks, reading, being outdoors, traveling and dancing. She loved spending time with her family and was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Sigourney. Jean passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2025, in North English, Iowa Jean's memory is honored by her daughters Susan Pitts and husband Tom of Oskaloosa, Sherri Zimmerman and husband Steve of Bennington NE, Sharon Landstrum of New Sharon, and son Steve Pierce and wife Vicky of North English. She has 14 grandchildren Brandy Pitts, Angela Pitts, Shannon (Joe) Dote, Dawn (John) Borcher, Christy (Shane) Utterback, Steviee (Aaron)Holt, Shawn (Ashley) Zimmerman, Scott Zimmerman, Amber (Jesse) Linder, Clayton Brown, Danielle (Josh) Meggers, Nicole (Jace) Mochal, Derek (Lydia) Pierce, and Ashley (Nate) White, 31 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Boyd, 3 brothers, 1 sister, and a great granddaughter.
