Anna Irene Fell Allison, 89, passed away on June 7, 2025, at Kennybrook Village nursing home in Grimes, Iowa.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025 beginning at 11:00 am at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 10:00 am.  Burial will be held in the Sixteen Cemetery near What Cheer, Iowa.  Memorials may be directed to the family in Irene's name.  Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of the arrangements.

Anna Irene Fell Allison, 89, passed away on June 7, 2025, at Kennybrook Village nursing home in Grimes, Iowa. Irene, the daughter of Frank and Olive (Hill) Fell, was born on February 26, 1936, in Monmouth, Illinois and grew up in Alexis, Illinois. She dedicated her life to caring for her husband, Edwin, and their four children. Irene's greatest joy came from spending time with family and taking care of people throughout her nursing career. She started at age 14 working in the hospital during the summers and on weekends. She graduated from Alexis High School and completed her LPN nursing degree at the University of Iowa in 1956. She soon met Lucien Edwin Allison and they were married on September 18, 1959, at the Iowa City Presbyterian Church. They established their home on a farm near Deep River, Iowa, where they raised their family. She moved to Montezuma in 1989 after Edwin passed away. Irene worked at the Montezuma Nursing Home for several years and was passionate about providing the best care possible for all the residents.

Irene was a social butterfly that loved spending time with friends and family. She had fond memories of getting dressed up to go dancing with Edwin. She was active with church groups, was an Order of the Eastern Star member, enjoyed gardening on the farm, sewing, and spoiling her grandkids.

Irene is survived by her sister, Ila Fenstermaker; her children, Renee (Mike) Gerot of Riverside, IA, Todd Allison of Montezuma, IA, Kent (Alba) Allison of Shawnee, KS, Alicia (Mike) Mann of Urbandale, IA; seven grandchildren, Scott (Melissa) Gerot, Matt Gerot, Eric (Linsey) Gerot, Casey (Brandon) Anderson, Nicholas (Josh) Allison, Nicole Allison, Megan Mann; and four great grandchildren, Maryn Gerot, Jax Gerot, Dallin Gerot, and Tatum Gerot.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Olive Fell, her husband, Edwin Allison, her sister, Louise King, and her brother, Eugene Fell.
