Jacob Jurgens, 25 of Montezuma, died unexpectedly Tuesday, August 19, 2025. Celebration of Life/Open House will be held from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home, 201 West Main St., Montezuma, Iowa 50171. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.

Jacob Lloyd Jurgens, the son of Randy and Anita (Davis) Jurgens was born on January 13, 2000 in Indianapolis, IN. He graduated from Whiteland High School in 2018. He then attended Indiana University for two years, majoring in software design. Jacob worked as an electrician's assistant before starting a career as an underground locator and stand-by technician for Vannguard Utility Partners.

Jacob loved his family, his friends and his job. He most enjoyed golfing with his brother and friends. He was a superior gamer on his PC. He also bowled at a high level. He won money at bowling and PC gaming. He enjoyed puzzles and could solve a Rubik's cube in seconds. He completed all college math while still in High School up to Calculus 2. In short, he was a brilliant man.

He is survived by his parents; his brother, Brad Davis of Aurelia, IA and sister, Brandi Davis of Montezuma, Iowa; grandparents, Lynn and Becky Jurgens of Forest City, Iowa, grandmother, Karen Markwardt-Blakewell of Sun City, AZ and grandfather, Thomas Davis of Indianapolis, IN along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who he enjoyed visiting. He also had a niece, Heidi and a nephew, Landyn, that were especially loved.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Jane Hughes of Indianapolis, IN and a step-grandmother, Ruth Welscott of Sun City, AZ.
