Jim Belzer, 74 of New Sharon, passed away, Tuesday, March 26, 2019 under hospice care. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am Saturday, March 30, 2019 at the New Sharon United Methodist Church with Pastor Terry Pollard officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, March 29, 2019 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in New Sharon from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A private burial will be held at a later date in the Highland Cemetery in New Sharon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hope Lodge in Iowa City. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of New Sharon is in charge of arrangements.

James Lee Belzer, the son of Ray and Dorothy (Harkin) Belzer was born on February 9, 1945 in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He was a 1963 graduate of Oskaloosa High School. On February 7, 1964, Jim was united in marriage to Beverly Sopher in Oskaloosa. To this union three children were born, Julie, Cindy and Chris. Jim was a jack of all trades and a lifelong salesman. Jim worked a few years at Vermeer Manufacturing before becoming a salesman for Premier Autoware and State Chemical. Jim stayed very busy. He enjoyed flipping houses, buying and selling cars and truly enjoyed making friends along the way. He also enjoyed camping and golfing. Family was very important to Jim. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed helping family with anything they needed. He attended the New Sharon United Methodist Church.

His memory will be honored by his wife of 55 years, Beverly of New Sharon; three children, Julie (Kent) Verros of Pella, Cindy (David) Dhabalt of Indianola and Chris (Lisa) Belzer of Bondurant; seven grandchildren, Chelsea (Don) Martin, Tasia Van Wyk, Luke (Paige) Belzer, Jake (Mimi) Belzer, Hunter Belzer, Nick Belzer, Mayson Dhabalt; 10 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a sister, Cathy (Jim) Bush of Albion and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gary Belzer and a sister, Carol Callahan.
