JoAnn Boyd, 88 of New Sharon passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Mahaska Health Partnership in Oskaloosa. A private family funeral service will be held on June 12, 2020 and burial will be in Friends Cemetery in New Sharon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Sharon Fire and Rescue and may be sent to the funeral home at Holland-Coble Funeral Home, in care of JoAnn Boyd, P.O. Box 85, New Sharon, Iowa 50207. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of New Sharon is in charge of arrangements.

JoAnn Boyd, the daughter of Ralph and Gladys (Newman) Walter, was born on December 5, 1931. She was a graduate of New Sharon High School. On March 2, 1951, JoAnn was united in marriage to Lyle Boyd. To this union four children were born, Dennis, Randy, Dixie and Bob. Following their marriage, JoAnn was a homemaker and took care of the children. She loved being outside and always had a beautiful garden. She and her husband, Lyle, had the opportunity to do a lot of traveling in which they enjoyed. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and absolutely loved spending time with her family.

Her legacy will be cherished by her four children, Dennis (Kathy) of North Liberty, IA, Randy (Denise) of Rotonda West, FL, Bob (Julie) of Ankeny, IA and Dixie Boyd of New Sharon, IA; 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

JoAnn is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lyle Boyd and four sisters.
