Joseph Sposeto, 64 a resident of the Iowa Veteran's Home in Marshalltown, passed away Saturday morning, September 11, 2021 at the Iowa Veteran's Home. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Jackson Township Cemetery in Montezuma. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.

Joseph Frank Sposeto, the son of Dominick Sposeto and Carol Fox Meldrem, was born on April 2, 1957 in Haywood, California.  He graduated from Urbandale High School in Urbandale, Iowa in 1975. After high school, Joseph enlisted with the United States Army serving a couple of years. Following his honorable discharge, he worked in food service in the Des Moines and Council Bluffs areas with a few of those being McDonald's and Pizza Hut. His most recent job was with the Harris Casino in Council Bluffs. Joe was also very active in the Salvation Army. He loved to watch movies especially Marvel films, Star Trek, Good Fellows and his favorite, Sci-Fi movies. Joe was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Des Moines and was a dedicated Catholic and attended Mass regularly.

He is survived by his step father, Larry (Harriett) Meldrem; his siblings, Teresa (Tom Roberts) Beck, Frank (Jan) Sposeto, Deb (Dave Hann) Meldrem, Lori (Lance) Handle, Patricia (Dennis) Rebello, Rebecca (Roger) Sposeto and Dominic (Jacque) Sposeto Jr and several nieces and nephews and friends.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Dominic Sposeto and Carol Meldrem.
