June Williams, 96 of New Sharon passed away Monday afternoon, February 1, 2021 at the Pella Regional Hospital. As was June's wish, her body will be cremated and a private burial will be held in the Friends Cemetery in New Sharon. No memorial will be established. To share June's love of reading and education, the family asks that you donate a book of your choice to a local library or school. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of New Sharon is in charge of arrangements.

June Irene Williams, the daughter of Charles and Margarite (Hartman) Hasley, was born on June 2, 1924 in New Sharon, Iowa. She graduated from Searsboro High School with the class of 1942 and then received her English Degree from William Penn College. June taught school for a few years. On March 7, 1947, June was united in marriage to Gerald "Jed" Williams at her sister's home in rural Poweshiek County.

June will be greatly missed. She had a great life of traveling, camping, gardening, painting, bowling and sewing. All of her artwork in her home was made and personally framed by her. She lead a very healthy lifestyle by studying her Bible, studying nutrition, eating healthy, staying active, exercising her mind and body and she enjoyed listening to classical music. At the age of 96, June still did her own laundry, cooked and baked bread while still living in her own home. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them; above all she loved the family fish fries.

Her legacy will be honored by several nieces and nephews; several special great nieces and nephews; close neighbors and her circle of friends.

June was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gerald "Jed" Williams; six brothers, John, Bert, Floyd, Joe, Lou and Howard Hasley; two sisters, Sylvia  and Edna; and two siblings in infancy.
