Karen Marie George, age 82, of Sigourney, Iowa, entered into rest on March 5, 2024 at the Manor House in Sigourney, Iowa. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 am on Monday, March 11, 2024 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney. Visitation with the family will be held 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Armah Cemetery near Millersburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Karen was born on March 2, 1942 in rural Keswick to John Leonard and Orpha Pauline (Ladley) George.  She attended Keswick school until her 8th grade year and was the oldest of 13 siblings.  She stayed home to help with her brothers and sisters after her mother passed.  She worked numerous odd jobs throughout her life.  Karen also helped coach her son, Lenny, in the special Olympics.  She was the proud grandma of her daughter's four children and recently added a great grandson to the bunch.  She was a huge fan of country music, concerts of her favorite country stars and enjoyed her trips to the State Fair.  She was known to always be the first one in and the last one out.  Karen also loved her motocross boys as they kept her feeling young.

Karen is survived by her daughter, Nikki Talbert (Jeff Hammes) of Sigourney; her grandchildren, Dayton Pringle (Abbie Myer) of Des Moines, Caleb Talbert (Amelia Hill) of Montezuma, Mya Talbert (Sean Farmer) of Riverside, Reagan Talbert of Sigourney; great grandson, Danny Pringle; brothers and sisters, Gary (Lillian) George, Ron (Francine) George, David (Diane) George, Duane George, Jackie George, sister-in-law, Sandy George, Rosemary (Donnie) Ross, Pam (Gary) Schmidt, Janet George, and Michelle Disney (John Gasper); as well as many other relatives and friends.

Karen is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Leonard (Lenny) Joseph George; infant brother, Roger, sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Danny Wyszczelski, and brothers John George and Myron George.
