Kathy Grife, 74, of Montezuma passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 3, 2025 at the UnityPoint Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am Saturday, June 7, 2025 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma. Burial will be held in the Jackson Township Cemetery in Montezuma. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, June 6, 2025 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Montezuma Fire Department or the Montezuma Auxiliary Legion Post 169.  Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.

Kathy Jo Grife was born on September 4, 1950 at Union Mills, Iowa to Richard and Shirlee Grandstaff Good.  She attended school at Montezuma High School and graduated with the class of 1968.  Kathy and Jack Grife were married on November 15, 1970 at the Presbyterian Church in Montezuma.  They became the parents of four children, Rich, Jacki, Ryan and Ronnie.  Kathy did in- home babysitting while raising her children.  She then began working for Sutherlands for a short time and then began her 32 year career at Sigs in shipping.  She retired in December 2017.

Kathy was a sports fanatic and loved watching her grandchildren in their activities.  She enjoyed going on fishing trips with her family to Canada, loved gardening and sharing her produce with her family, traveling, especially to Florida and out of state.  Kathy played cards  with Methodist friends, had coffeetime, and thoroughly loved her dog, Lily.  She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan, New York Yankee fan, Cardinals fan and spent hours watching the ADM Tigers, the Grinnell Tigers and the Montezuma Braves, always supporting her grandchildren's high school teams. She also enjoyed driving her mother and aunt on several trips.

Kathy's memory will be remembered by her husband, Jack Grife of Montezuma; her children, Rich (Joanie) Grife of Grinnell, Jacki (LeRoy) Carlson of Grinnell, Ryan (Lindsey) Grife of Adel and Ronnie (Latisha) Grife of Colorado; her grandchildren, Liberty (Josiah Dorow) Grife, Ella (Jaylen Eitel)  Grife, Brady Grife, Benjamin Grife, Trinity Carlson, Lauryn Grife and Kaden Grife; her brother, Charles (Ione) Good of Cape Coral, Florida; and many other nieces, nephews and friends.

Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Richard Good and Shirlee Good Harter, and a step-father, Junior Harter.
