Kenny Bennett-Schirmer, 41 of Barnes City passed away Tuesday evening, September 22, 2020 at Mahaska Health Partnership in Oskaloosa. Visitation will begin after 12:00 pm Friday, September 25, 2020 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home with Kenny's family present to greet friends and relatives from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the family's name to honor Kenny and help with final expenses. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.

Kenneth Wayne Bennett-Schirmer, the son of Steven Bennett and Elaine (Kiefer) and Bob Schirmer, was born on June 24, 1979 in Grinnell, Iowa. He attended Montezuma High School. Following school, Kenny held several jobs with the most recently being at Jeldwen and H & W Brand in Grinnell. Kenny enjoyed listening to music, working on his cars and trucks, fishing, hanging out with his friends and spending time with his family. He was a fun carefree son, brother, uncle and friend that would do anything for anyone and also not afraid to have a good time. One-night Kenny and his close friend, Travis, snuck out his dad's car and Kenny marked out the car on the driveway with chalk lines so he knew exactly where to park the car when he brought it back. The problem was, Kenny forgot to erase the chalk lines and his dad busted him and Travis.

Kenny's memory will be honored by his parents; Elaine and Bob Schirmer of Montezuma; his brothers, Michael (Kristi) Bennett of Eldora and Cody (Shelby) Schirmer of What Cheer; his sister, Jessica (Caleb) Wilson of Colfax; two nieces, Maylei Rouze and Leah Schirmer; six nephews, William Bennett, Jacob Bennett, Zachary Bennett, Keaton Schirmer, Hunter Rouze and Kaden Schirmer; his girlfriend, Amanda Bell; his paternal grandmother, Betty Schirmer; along with many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Steven Bennett; a nephew, Bradley Jacobs his paternal grandparents, Billie and Gladys Bennett; paternal grandfather, Donald Schirmer and maternal grandparents, Earl and Betty Kiefer.
