Kenneth Koehler, 80, of New Sharon, Iowa passed away peacefully at his home on October 23, 2023. A memorial service with friends and family will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, we ask that memorials are directed to New Sharon Fire and Rescue in recognition of their amazing support of Ken. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of New Sharon is in charge of arrangements.

Kenneth (Ken) John Koehler was born on August 23, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan to Ernest and Ruth (Clark) Koehler. On April 19, 1963, he was united in matrimony to Nina Gae Miller at the First Presbyterian Church in Royal Oak, MI. They soon became the parents of two sons, Kraig and Jeffrey. Ken was a precision machinist and business owner for 40 years working first for Bachan Aerospace Company in Warren, MI.  In 1973, Ken and Nina moved the family to Columbiaville, MI, and they started their own company, Koehler Machine, Inc. in Fostoria, MI and later, RK Precision in Pensacola, FL. In 2002, Ken and Nina moved to New Sharon, IA to be closer to family. Ken loved boating on Lake Huron, dancing, playing cards and games, "sticking to the plan," and being there to fix anything and everything. He was the self-professed "East Side Champion" of everything. Most of all, he loved spending time and making memories with his friends and family.

Ken is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Nina; his children, Kraig (Stacy) Koehler of New Sharon, IA and Jeff (Wendy) Koehler of Los Angeles, CA; his grandchildren, Niklous Koehler, Alex (Andrea) Koehler, Chase Koehler, Katie Koehler, Samuel Koehler, and Henry Koehler; his brother, Kel (Shirley) Koehler; his sister-in-law, Elenor Miller; his nieces, Cheryl Jurgess, Dawn Siggett, Cindy Strich, and Vicky Nichols; his nephew, Keith Koehler, as well as many friends and extended family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Ruth Koehler, brother-in-law, March Miller, and sister-in-law, Ruth Koehler.

Ken's family would also like to give a special thank you to Ken's "Angels" who have shown him so much love, support, and care over the last months.
