Larry Hartwig, 81, of rural Delta, passed away at his home on Sunday, April 16, 2023.  No services are planned. Interment will be held privately.  Memorials may be directed to the family in Larry's name.  Holland-Coble Funeral Home of What Cheer is in charge of the arrangements.

Larry Leon Hartwig was born on August 28, 1941 at What Cheer, Iowa to Perry "Ted" and Ella Danner Hartwig.  He was one of five siblings.  Larry married Jill Jones on February 29, 1960 at Oskaloosa, Iowa.  They became the parents of four children, Ella, Larry II, Coreen and Mark.  Larry and Jill spent their life on the farm and he also drove semi part-time for 20 years and enjoyed watching westerns.  Family was very important and he enjoyed family gatherings, holding the new babies and his 17 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.  In his free time, Larry enjoyed restoring antique tractors, camping at Old Threshers, the State Fair, and participating in local parades.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Mark Allen Hartwig; his grandson, Christopher Adam Stout; his siblings, Carl (Bobby) Hartwig, Merle (Kay) Hartwig, Herman Hartwig, Erma (Ralph) Kempf and Doris Clubb.

Larry is survived by his wife of over 63 years, Jill; his children, Ella (Alan) Morrow, Larry II, and Coreen Hartwig; seventeen grandchildren, twenty five great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren; as well as many other relatives and friends.
