Lisa Facile, 54 of Montezuma passed away Monday afternoon, August 31, 2026 at UnityPoint Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am Friday, September 4, 2026 at the Community Hope Church in Montezuma followed by a luncheon. Burial will be held in the Barnes City Cemetery in Barnes City. Visitation will begin after 12:00 pm Thursday, September 3, 2026 at the Community Hope Church with the family present from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to family and will be used for Wegener's Granulomatosis Research. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.

Lisa Lynn Facile, the daughter of Frank Pierce and Linda (Williams) Hamilton, was born on January 24, 1972, in Oskaloosa, Iowa. She graduated from North Mahaska High School with the class of 1990 before attending the University of Iowa. On April 16, 1994, Lisa was united in marriage to the love of her life, Matt Facile at the Barnes City Christian Church. To this union two children were born, Megan and Jacob. Lisa worked for a few years at the First Bank in Newton before deciding to go to La James Cosmetology School in Des Moines. Following graduation, Lisa rented a chair at Trenz Hair Salon in Newton. During the last few years of doing hair in Newton, Lisa was diagnosed with Wegener's Granulomatosis, making it difficult to work. So when her second child was born, she decided to become a full-time mom. Lisa will always be a hairstylist, but her passion was a full-time mother and wife.

When Lisa was diagnosed with Wegener's she was pregnant with her son and couldn't take medications because it might've affected his health. People who have the disease typically live for five years and Lisa showed her strength for 25 years battling it. She was asked to do a study at Mayo and knowing it couldn't help her she did the study anyway because she said it could've helped someone else. Lisa had a kind heart and cared deeply for the people around her.

Lisa didn't let her diagnosis of Wegener's hold her back from all the things she loved. Lisa spent a lot of time scrapbooking and would take retreats with friends to do it all weekend long. She also loved taking pictures and photography, you could spend hours looking through all the pictures on her phone. She also loved Christmas and decorating, eventually leaving her tree up year-round. Most of all Lisa loved her family and made sure they had the best memories. She would plan movie marathons, parties, and family vacations. She loved planning things for her family including birthday parties, graduations, and weddings, making every part memorable. She had a strong faith and attended Community Hope Church in Montezuma where she helped in the nursery.

Lisa is survived by her husband, Matt Facile of Montezuma; her children Megan (Seth) Cranston of Deep River and Jacob Facile of Waukee; granddaughters, Chloe and Charlotte; her parents, Linda (Rodney) Hamilton of Barnes City and Frank (Tammy) Pierce of Montezuma; her brothers, Waylon Pierce, Bradley (Dawn) Hamilton and Bryan (Ami) Hamilton along with many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her brother, Willie Pierce.
