Lucille Elizabeth (Little) Harper of rural Webster passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Friday, April 24th, 2026 at the Manor House Care Center in Sigourney after 99 cherished years on Earth.  Funeral services will begin at 10:00am on Tuesday, April 28th, 2026 at Holland-Coble Funeral Home in What Cheer with burial following at Sixteen Cemetery in Thornburg.  Visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 7:00pm on Monday, April 27th, 2026 at Holland-Coble Funeral Home in What Cheer.  Memorial contributions may be made in Lucille's name to her family which will go towards a staff appreciation donation for the Manor House Care Center to show the family's heartfelt gratitude for the love and kindness provided to Lucille.  Holland-Coble Funeral Home of What Cheer is in charge of arrangements.

Lucille was born at home on February 18, 1927, as the youngest child to David Jr. and Mildred (Bates) Little.  She grew up near Thornburg and later graduated from Thornburg High in 1945.  On her 20th birthday in 1947, she was united in marriage to Donald Marshall Harper, with whom she was blessed to spend 61 years before his passing in 2008.  Together, they made their home farming outside of Keswick and raised three children.  She took pride in being a dedicated farm wife. Her family was what she valued most, making everyone feel special and loved.  Throughout her life, you would regularly find her enjoying the outdoors by gardening, fishing at the pond, mushroom hunting, mowing, and riding the four-wheeler with Don (while trying to keep him in line).  Before leaving the house, Lucille would always have her lipstick on and hair curled.  There was always a pitcher of sweet tea in the fridge, and she'd quickly whip up some of her famous homemade caramel popcorn for any visitors that stopped by.  For birthdays, you'd always have an angel food cake waiting for you.

As a faithful member of the Keswick United Methodist Church, she volunteered her time there in many different roles, including being treasurer of the United Methodist Women (UMW) for many years.  In her younger years you'd find her square dancing and playing cards with friends on the weekends.  She will be greatly missed by the countless lives she touched and those left to honor her memory.

She is survived by her son Andrew (Sheree) Harper of Keswick, son-in-law Ed Webb of Sigourney, daughter-in-law Laurie (Alan Harper) Gregory of Runnels, 8 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.  Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son Alan Harper, daughter Joyce Webb, granddaughter Jessica Harper, and two brothers, Lloyd and Donald Little.
