Marianne Meyer, 91 of Grinnell passed away Tuesday evening, December 24, 2024 at the UnityPoint Grinnell Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am Saturday, January 4, 2025 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma. Visitation will be held from 10:30 am to 11:00 am on Saturday just before the service. Burial will be held in the Barnes City Cemetery in Barnes City. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.

Marianne Margaret Meyer, the daughter of Josef and Centa Schindler, was born on May 17, 1933 in Seeshaupt, Germany. She met Kenneth Meyer from New Sharon, Iowa and they were married in Murnau, Germany on June 25, 1954. Kenneth was then transferred to Fort Huachuca, Arizona where a son was born, Charles. Together they traveled to many locations throughout his service in the Army. When he retired from the service, Kenneth worked for Manatts and Marianne continued to be a housewife. She enjoyed flea markets, playing Bingo and going to casinos. She also loved being a great housewife and gardener.

She is survived by her son, Charles Meyer of Grinnell; her brother-in-law, Donald Meyer of Grinnell along with many nieces and nephews.

Marianne was preceded in death by her parents, Josef and Centa; her husband, Kenneth; a sister, Frieda; her brother, Walter; sisters-in-law, Joyce, Anna, Vanna and Carol and her half brother-in-law, Bill.
