Marilyn Warwick, 84 of Deep River passed away peacefully Friday evening, May 22, 2026 at the English Valley Care Center in North English. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma. Visitation will be held one hour before the service. Burial will be held in the Golden Rod Cemetery in Deep River. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Marilyn's name to be used for upgrades at the Iowa County Fair and to purchase a bench at the Iowa State Fair in Marilyn's honor. Marilyn Joan Warwick, the daughter of Gerald and Helen Gertrude (Phillips) Rieck, was born on January 1, 1942 outside of Deep River. She graduated with the first class from Deep River Millersburg High School in 1959. On January 10, 1960, Marilyn was united in marriage to William "Bill" Warwick at the Deep River United Methodist Church. To this union three children were born, Kim, Keri and Tracy. Marilyn worked a short time at GTE in Grinnell before they moved to the family farm near Deep River and Marilyn helped Bill on the farm bottle feeding the calves while Bill milked the cows. She also was the secretary at Deep River Millersburg School for many years.  When Bill and Marilyn decided to rent the farm, she went to work at Grinnell Regional Hospital, retiring in 2004. During retirement, Marilyn and Bill enjoyed wintering 14 years in Texas. Marilyn spent a lot of her spare time watching her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in all of their activities. She loved to travel, spending time at her parents' lake home at Lake Ponderosa, water skiing, golfing; where she had a hole in one, camping at the Iowa State Fair and she was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan.  She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, a member of the Montezuma United Methodist Church before moving to Deep River when they joined the United Church of Deep River and was a 4-H Leader for many years.

Marilyn's legacy will be honored by her children, Kim (Ron) Tanke of Williamsburg, Keri (Mike) Jensen of Des Moines and Tracy (Mary) Warwick of Deep River; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; her sister, Gwen Rieck of Williamsburg along with several nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Gertrude Rieck; her husband, Bill Warwick and her brother, Wayne Rieck.
