Marjorie Hull, 101 of New Sharon passed away peacefully Friday afternoon, October 4, 2019 at the Mahaska Health Partnership Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am Saturday, October 12, 2019 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in New Sharon. Visitation will be open to the public from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm with the family not present and continue Saturday morning with the family one hour before the service. Burial will be in the Friends Cemetery in New Sharon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Sharon Fire and Rescue.

Marjorie Glenna Hull, the daughter of Lowell and Glenna (Moffitt) Hull, was born on September 11, 1918 on the family farm two miles west of New Sharon. She attended Round Top Country School and graduated from New Sharon High School in 1935 as the class salutatorian. She then attended business school in Des Moines and was employed there until her marriage to Raymond Hull on March 23, 1938. They began their life together working on a farm in Mahaska County. They enjoyed working together on farms in Mahaska County and in 1949 bought their own farm in Poweshiek County. After 35 years there, they retired to New Sharon.

Marjorie always enjoyed the outdoors, working with animals and gardening. Being in the kitchen, sewing, and reading were all favorite pastimes. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were a continual source of joy.

She is survived by her children, Peggy (Walter) Smith of New Sharon, Portia (David) Figland of Oskaloosa and Dan (Barbara) Hull of Montezuma; six grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren: Llew (Laura) Smith of Morton, Illinois and their children: Megan, Mitchell, Allison and Adam; Damon (Elizabeth) Smith of Tampa, Florida and their children: Andrew, Katelyn and Suzanne; Kendra (Wesley) Roquet of Fremont, Iowa and their children: Lesley (Nathan) Schneider, Kelsey and Cara; Melissa (Aaron) DeJong of Rochester, Minnesota and their children: Madison and Caden; Chad Hull of St. Louis, Missouri; Cassie (Blake) Eno of Omaha, Nebraska and their children: Niles and Simon. She is also survived by three step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren, Angie (Jason) Smith of Coralville, Iowa and their children: Austin and Justin; Shane (Holly) Scheel of Montgomery, Illinois and their children: Jacob and Madison; Kim (Bill) Hahn of Marion, Iowa and their son, Dylan; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Clayworth of New Sharon and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Raymond on March 29, 1998 and three brothers, Ralph Hull, Harlan Hull and Claire Hull and a sister, Gladys Riley.
