Marjorie Little, 99 of Montezuma was called home to be with the Lord on Friday evening, September 18, 2020 at the Mahaska Health Partnership Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma. Burial will be held in the Jackson Township Cemetery in Montezuma. Visitation will begin after 12:00 pm Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home with the family present from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Montezuma Community School Library or the North Mahaska Community School Library to be used to buy new books. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.

Marjorie Fern Tarvin Little, was born the ninth child of Roy and Una (Turney) Tarvin on March 8, 1921 in Montezuma, Iowa. She received her education in Barnes City, then Jackson #12 rural school and graduated from Montezuma Community School in 1937. Marjorie then graduated from Iowa State Teacher's College and taught in a rural school near Barnes City, then Gibson and then in the Grinnell School System.

On June 4, 1946, Marjorie married Floyd Junior Little at the First Presbyterian Church in Montezuma. They began their married life on a farm near Gibson, later near Ewart and finally south of Montezuma. They became parents of three daughters, Kathleen (Little) Meyer, Carolyn (Little) Simmons and Eleanor (Little) Robinson.

Marjorie was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Evangelical Church in Montezuma. When the children were younger, she spent many years teaching Sunday School, was a youth leader and later a Trustee. Marjorie served as a 4-H leader for 18 years and was also a hospice volunteer in her later years. After the dairy herd was sold, she started working at Sig Manufacturing Company as a graphic artist and also in accounting.

Following retirement, Marjorie enjoyed spending more time in her garden, quilting, playing cards with friends and listening to tapes from George Beverly Shea. Family was very important to Marjorie and she enjoyed spending time with and supporting her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in all of their activities.

Marjorie's legacy will be honored by a daughter, Kathleen Meyer and her family: Doug (Angie) Meyer, Caleb, Dustin and Courtney; Laurie (Matt) Novotny and Nathan; Stephanie Meyer; and Melissa (Michael) Ryan: Avery, Jasmine, Collin, Cora, Titus, Benjamin, Joseph, Jeffery and Timothy; a daughter, Carol Simmons and family: Randy (Cedar) Simmons and Amy Simmons and Tegan; a daughter, Eleanor (Alan) Robinson and family: Andy (LeAnn) Robinson: Jarrin, Damen and Cargin.

Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Floyd Little in 2012; a great grandson, Treyton Robinson, a great granddaughter in infancy, Jada Phoebe Ryan, sisters, Lois Tarvin, Lodi Tarvin Slagle and Bertha Vanderburgh, her brothers, Everett Tavin, Cleo Tarvin, Floyd Tarvin, Clark Tarvin and Raymond Tarvin; a son-in law, Derold Meyer a sister-in-law, Ada Buckmaster; and three brothers-in-law, Gerald Little, Robert Little and Dewayne Little.
