Marjorie Rempp, 90 of Montezuma passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at the St. Francis Manor in Grinnell surrounded by her family. Funeral services be held on Monday, November 20, 2023, beginning at 11:00 am at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 10:00 am.  Burial will be held in the Jackson Township Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Montezuma Fire Department or the Montezuma Food Pantry. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.

Marjorie Joann Rempp was born on October 7, 1933 in Barnes City, Iowa to William (Bill) and Nellie VerBeek.  She graduated from Barnes City High School.  It was on Halloween that she met Bill Rempp of Montezuma and that was the start of a blessed lifetime together.  Bill and Marjorie were united in marriage on December 2, 1951.  Marge farmed hand in hand with Bill and always described herself as the chief gopher.  For over 30 years, Bill and Marge wintered in Texas.  They loved the big band concerts and Marge was known for her lemon meringue pies she made from the lemons off their tree.  Marge was active with Beulah Club, the Historical Society and Montezuma Mothers' Club.

Her legacy will be honored by her children, Denise Harlan of West Des Moines and Kevin (Terri) Rempp of Montezuma; five grandchildren, Matthew (Shannon) Harlan, Eric (Marly) Harlan, Stephanie (Brandon) Sheckels, Heather (Ryan) Ellis and Drew (Brittany) Rempp; 15 great grandchildren, Brody Harlan, Dylan Harlan, Zach Harlan, Lexi Harlan, Tori Harlan, Shiloh Harlan, Skyler Harlan, Brielle Sheckels, Julia Sheckels,  Lucas Sheckels, Lana Ellis, Owen Ellis, Will Rempp, Parker Rempp and Emma Rempp; her sisters, Rosemary Hartschen and Carolyne (Gary) Blom; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Marge is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill Rempp; and her brother-in-law Wray Hartschen.

The family would like to thank the staff at Care Initiatives Nursing Home, St. Francis Manor and Unity Point Hospice.
