Nolan Bayer, 13 of Guernsey passed away Friday, May 24, 2024 due to injuries sustained in an ATV accident. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at the St. John's Lutheran Church south of Victor. Burial will be held in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will begin after 12:00 pm Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at the St. John's Lutheran Church with the family present to greet friends and relatives from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lutheran Interparish School at Williamsburg.   Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.

Nolan George Bayer was born on February 2, 2011 at Cedar Rapids, Iowa to David and Kelly Tanke Bayer. He was one of four siblings, Emily, Ryan and Beth. He was baptized at St. John's Lutheran Church on February 20, 2011. Nolan had just finished the 7th grade at the Lutheran Interparish School at Williamsburg. He was very active in choir and playing the drums in band.  Nolan loved all sports and especially soccer and the NFL.  He collected football cards and was an avid Minnesota Twins, Vikings and Iowa State fan. He knew every statistic about every player and loved to share that knowledge with his friends.  He was a jokester and enjoyed a good laugh, but most of all was a giver, helper and planner.  He attended St. John's Lutheran Church where he loved to sing and his beautiful voice was always heard.  There was always a football game going at his grandparents' home and he had fun with his cousins playing in the dirt pile.  Nolan spent his inside time playing Minecraft, X-box, building with Legos and playing with farm toys.  Nolan enjoyed eating oatmeal cream pies, canned fruit, and especially his grandparents' breakfasts and meals.  He was always happy and appreciative.

Nolan is survived by his parents, David and Kelly Bayer of Guernsey; his siblings, Emily, Ryan and Beth; his paternal grandparents, Martin and Betty Bayer of Guernsey, his maternal grandparents, Marvin and Laurie Tanke of Guernsey, and his maternal great grandmother, Dorothy Allen of Barnes City; his uncles, Kyle (Leslie) Tanke, Jeff Bayer, and Joel (Angie) Bayer; his aunts, Kami (Ray) Walters and Debbie (Tony) Upah; cousins, Mary Tanke, Brooklyn Caffee, Myles Tanke, RJ Walters, Grant Walters, Will Bayer, Owen Bayer, Lauren Upah and Ava Upah and many friends.
