Robert Miller, 94 of New Sharon passed away Saturday morning, March 9, 2019 at the Crystal Heights Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Oskaloosa. A memorial service will be held at a later time at the Iowa Veteran's Cemetery in Van Meter, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to family's name and sent to the funeral home at P.O. Box 85, New Sharon, Iowa 50207. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of New Sharon is in charge of arrangements.

Robert Junior Miller, the son of Robin and Augusta Miller, was born on August 15, 1924 in Clinton, Iowa. He attended school in Clinton, Earlham and Lorimor. He enlisted with the United States Army and was stationed in the South Pacific. On December 10, 1949, Bob was united in marriage to Carol Day in Afton, Iowa. To this union three daughters were born, Mary Ann, Joyce and Sue. Bob farmed in northwest Iowa for many years. After farming, Bob worked at the East Union School as a custodian and was also the head school bus driver. He enjoyed woodworking and camping. He also enjoyed playing sports and was involved in a church baseball league. Bob was a wonderful father, grandfather and great grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a people person and loved helping people. Bob was a member of the Elfsborg Lutheran Church in Pomeroy.

His memory will be honored by his wife, Carol Miller of Oskaloosa; his daughters, Mary Ann Sampson of New Sharon, Joyce (Steven) Adams of Atlantic and Sue (Lee) Anderson of Bayard; nine grandchildren, Wendy Sampson, Todd (Shelly) Sampson, Chris (Elaine) Sampson, Stephanie McNair, Jeromy (Laura) Adams, Eric (Maryl Schakel) Anderson, John (Leslie) Anderson, Lealand (Heidi) Anderson and Robin (Katie) Anderson; 35 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents.
