Robert Ruggles, 79, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at the Serenity House in Oskaloosa. A memorial gathering will be held at noon on April 6, 2019 at Thomas Hall in What Cheer. As were his wishes, his body has been cremated.

Robert Lee Ruggles was born June 28, 1939 in Greyville, Mo., the son of Henry and Iva Ruggles. He enjoyed hosting cookouts for family and friends, spending time with his grandchildren, and tinkering in the garage.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Dean Ruggles and Fred Clay.

He is survived by his wife, Pancy Ruggles; five sons, Dakota and Stacy Ruggles, Jason and Tracy Ruggles, Mark and Misty Ruggles, Kris Ruggles and Robbie Smithburg; two brothers, Jessie and his wife, Patricia Ruggles, and Sam Ruggles. Robert also leaves behind 24 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
