Robert Carl Wright, 81, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2017. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at the Garrett Cemetery at Delta.

Robert Carl Wright, son of Fred Chappell and Mary Donalson Chappell was born on December 10, 1935 at Los Angeles, California. He attended school and one year of college in Oklahoma. Bob enlisted in the U.S. Navy at San Diego and served eight years. On June 9, 1973, Bob was united in marriage to Audrey Fairchild. He was a mechanic at a car parts factory, did construction and was a great cook at various places. He enjoyed playing guitar with the Country Stardusters Band and the Natural Country Band. Bob enjoyed Nascar, sports and especially the Iowa Hawkeyes. Bob was fun loving and enjoyed life. Audrey was his companion and the love of his life.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Clyde Curtis and his step- son, Jim Van Dee.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Audrey Wright of Cedar Rapids, daughter, Shelly Wright of Middletown, NY, brother, Eddy Pool of California, brother-in-law Jim (Judy) Fairchild of Webster and his sister-in-law, Kathryn Kelsey of Cedar Rapids, five grandchildren and seven grandchildren.
